I’m Ashley – I’m a freelancer, a teacher, and a traveller with insatiable wanderlust.
I had my first taste of travel when I was just in high school, but after finishing my degree I was able to jet off to the other side of the world and truly start the life I wanted. I started off as an ESL teacher in Seoul, South Korea. Not knowing how much I would love it there, one year turned into two. Whilst there, I was able to explore South East Asia, among other places.
After a while, I decided that teaching long hours wasn’t for me. I wanted the freedom to explore new places and discover my passions. That’s when I decided that I needed to be location independent.
So What Now?
I switch around between being fairly nomadic whilst working completely remotely and taking on in-person positions. Whatever it is I have to do to allow me to travel more!
If you’re someone who likes to visit new places, but you don’t have a zillion dollars in the bank or a trust fund, you’ll feel right at home here. But that doesn’t mean you need to only eat peanut butter sandwiches and live on a ridiculous budget only staying in hostels – that is unless you want to.
My goal is to provide you with some inspiration and information that will allow you to implement more travel in your life. So, here you’ll find some travel guides, reviews, tips, and overly-honest travel tales. Because let’s be honest, most travel isn’t Instagram perfect sundresses in Morocco. But, one of the biggest questions I get asked is how I afford to travel so regularly.
Work and travel are not mutually exclusive!
While it’s not always vacations, taking on travel jobs or working remotely allows you to explore the world as much as you want. Beyond my own experiences, each month I profile a different person who is in a travel job or remote-working position. This is to provide you with a variety of perspectives and options you may not have thought of.
